An Analysis of Influence of Videos on Social Media in Learning Vocabulary for Teenagers

Abstract

This study examines how social media (YouTube + Instagram) short videos contribute       to learning vocabulary among university students. From expeditious growth of platforms learners are progressively exposed to genuine and fascinating language content. This research comprises a group of university students who watch videos as auxiliary learning material for three weeks. Data was collected through the questionnaire. The responses reveal that videos enhance student’s motivation, contextual understanding and retention of new vocabulary. This study investigates the effectiveness of social media videos. This research portrays and results that short videos content in learning vocabulary can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy for learning, improving and enhancing vocabulary.
