Abstract

Online business refers to any commercial activities carried out primarily through the internet, such as selling products or services, marketing, or providing digital downloads. In comparison to traditional businesses, it requires lower startup costs and reaches a global audience through various digital platforms. This research study aimed to assess the effects of online business interaction on academic performance and mental well-being.  The population of the study included all the students of Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, KP, Pakistan and thus 1,480 undergraduate students were selected as the population of the study by using an available sampling technique. A self-made questionnaire was used for the collection of data.  The collected data were processed through the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS, version 26), and thus, suitable statistical tools were applied for analysis. Based on data analysis, the researcher arrived at the conclusion that online business engagement significantly impairs university students’ academic performance and their psychological health, therefore it is important that university policies should encourage sustainable student entrepreneurship and psychological support.
